Crypto funding rates & open interest
Funding is what longs and shorts pay each other to keep a perpetual future close to spot. Positive funding means longs pay shorts (leverage leans long); negative means shorts pay longs. Open interest is the value of open contracts: rising OI together with price means new money is entering, rising OI against price means a crowded position that can be squeezed.

How to read the table
- Funding (8h): the current rate normalized to an 8-hour period, so coins on 1h or 4h schedules are comparable.
- Annualized: the 8h rate × 3 × 365 — the yearly cost of holding the position if funding stayed where it is.
- Open interest: the USD value of all open perpetual contracts.
- OI 24h: change in open interest over the last 24 hours.
- Highlighted rows: funding in the top ~15% of the coin's own recent history and at least 0.03% per 8h — crowded positioning.
