Instead of processing transactions one at a time like traditional blockchains, Monad processes multiple transactions simultaneously through parallel execution. The system separates the agreement process from the execution process, allowing validators to first agree on which transactions to include and in what order, then having more time to execute those transactions without slowing down consensus.
This approach, combined with a custom-built database called MonadDB, dramatically increases throughput while maintaining accuracy. Monad also offers complete EVM compatibility, where applications built for Ethereum work on Monad without any code modifications, and users can connect with familiar wallets like MetaMask just as they would on Ethereum.
